How To Avoid Some Medical Blunders

Were going to learn how to avoid some medical blunders. The first thing you do is check on your doctor. Make sure that when your in surgery your doctor doesn't let a new intern operate on you without the regular doctor that does the operation is there. Make sure the regular surgeon is doing the operation. Make sure the medication is administered correctly.

The institute of medicine estimates that 3% to 5% of all medication is administered incorrectly. Meet with your anaesthesiologist ahead of time so they know your medical history. Make sure your care giver knows everything about your medication and everything else for your wellbeing. Your doctor should give you all the alternatives avialable to you before anything is done. If not seek out a different doctor.

Heart Disease for women is a high risk and the symptoms are different than in men. Make sure your doctor knows about these things. Your doctor should always check your blood pressure, cholestrol levels & bone density test and a stress test if there are heart problems. I'll tell you most people worry about things and 9 times out of 10, the problem solves it's self ,and now they have put their body through all that stress for nothing.Which can very well make them sick.

Personally I have had some very hard times and I never worried about them . And guess what? everything turned out fine and I never put my body through all that stress. And I'm talking about loosing a very good job because of down sizing and going through breast cancer. Never worried when they told me and I will never worry.

Things work out. And certain things are out of our hands and we can't do anything about them, so why worry over something you have know control of. Only God can deal with that.

HOW TO PROVENT CANCER
Cancer claims the lives of 1,500 Americans each day!!

1. key mistakes:
Inhaling secondhand smoke. Each year claims 180.000 cancer deaths.

2. NOT GETTING ANNUAL SKIN EXAMS
Melanoma - the DEADLIST SKIN CANCER 54,000 diagnosied. Melaqnoma is 15 to 20 times more common now than 50 years ago,in part because of depletion of the ozone layer. Most Melanoma can be cured in it's early stages.
Smart Idea: Ask your doctor to take pictures of suspicious spots that should be watched., areas also such as the scalp, soles of feet & gentals.

3. SETTLING FOR SIGMOIDOSCAPY
Colon cancer also is among the most treatable of cancers when detected early. Yet nearly 48,000 Americans die from it needlessly each year.
-cutting good dietary fat. The saturated fats such as butter and red meat, does appear to elevate cancer risk.
-but the monoun-satured fats in many nuts, olives & canola oils and the omega-3 fatty acids in fresh water salmon and tuna appear to have ANT-CANCER EFFECTS.

4. DRINKING TOO MUCH ALCOHOL
the death rates for cancer of the mouth, esopagus, arynes and liver in men and women who consume at least 4 drinks daily are 3 to 7 times higher than among nondrinkers. Woman who drink more than 1 drink a day are at increased risk for breast cancer.

5. GETING SAFE TANS:
Tanning beds are not safe to use them you get as much harmful ultraviolet A ( UVA) as if you were on the beach for the entire day.
If you want to tan, try self-tanner, such as those made by Neutrogena or Coppertone, sold in most drugsores.

6.MEDICAL TESTS THAT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE
Doctors rarely look for diseases unless patiensts have symptoms. That's why patients must know their personal risk factors for specific diseases.

7.PHYSICIANS CAN'T PROTECT YOU FROM SUPERBUGS.
Best Prevention of this super bug is DON'T TAKE ANY ANTIBIOTIC UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECCESARY.
