The Herb Slippery Elm Bark




SLIPPERY ELM BARK




Slippery elm bark is native to the Appalachian mountains of eastern North America. Skin washes and tea were created by drying elm leaves.


The inner bark is high in carbonhydrates and can be easily digested. The inner bark is also used to waterproff canoes,baskets and places of living.


Elm-also used by colonnists to make pudding,thicken jelly, to preserve grease, and as a survival,food on long trips.


It was used medically to treat:
toothaches
sore throats
skin injuries ulcers
gout respiratory conditions
arthritis vaginites
stomach aches hemorrhoids

intestinal worms coughs
Also as a skin smoother & softner.
